Just a few of the many memories we have shared during our year….
Luke and Cydney Miller-
Luke and I are proud supporters and volunteers for the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Over the years of working with these organizations, we have met so many great people who believe in the hope of a cure as much as we do. As Mrs. Tennessee International 2010, I was blessed with the opportunity to take my work with these wonderful organizations to another level and to advocate the message of early detection and prevention at both the state and federal levels.
I am the Assistant Human Resource Director for the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. I completed my MBA degree in December 2009 and currently hold my SPHR certification. I spend the majority of my free time supporting organizations that serve the mission to find a cure for cancer such as American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Foundation, ACS CAN, Minnie Pearl Foundation and St. Jude. I am also active in the 100% Graduation Campaign, Clarksville Young Professionals, Leadership Clarksville 2010 and United Way. I enjoy distance running/walking and just completed my seventh half marathon. I am married to my best friend who I admire for his genuine kindness, uncompromised work ethic and deep desire to give back to his community. He inspires and empowers me daily to believe in myself and that together, we will impact the fight against cancer.
Luke Miller, a.k.a Mr. Tennessee International 2010, is a loving husband and partner in the journey that The Road to the Cure has become. Luke is the Branch Manager of Otis Elevator in Nashville and Knoxville Tennessee. He is an extremely talented chef and enjoys creating culinary art! He is very active in the community and has embraced the opportunity that the International system has offered us. He is an extraordinary man who gives so much of himself to see others happy. Luke serves on the Board of the Kiwanis club of Clarksville and is an active member of the Rivers and Spires festival committee. He is a true partner in our advocacy work for the American Cancer Society. In fact, Luke conducted a series of cooking classes to benefit the American Cancer Society and Cooking with Chemo classes to help cancer patients learn how to cook healthy meals while going through treatment.
Thank you for all the great memories from this year. We look forward to the journey ahead as we continue to travel the road. Visit us and our continued work at www.theroadtothecure.com.
